OMM

OMM – Oncology Medication Management is an integrated set of software modules designed to manage oncology treatment workflow. It can be adapted to all aspects of cancer care, from large inpatient and outpatient centers to smaller, office-based practices and widely-distributed networks. The modules are described below and collectively offer the following key features:

To assist with care planning and managing resources

Planning is critical to the success of any treatment center. Every resource is valuable and must be managed and scheduled to achieve maximum benefit. OncoWorklist is your optimal work tool. This advanced, yet intuitive system is designed to manage appointments and is perfectly integrated with the modules used to deliver care. It is capable of creating automated appointments, based upon treatment protocols of any complexity. Scheduling strategies, priority planning and overbooking: they all are necessary for ensuring adequate response times and availability of resources. Each of these scheduling tools can be easily configured and managed with the OncoWorklist processing platform. The system is also capable of defining automatic solutions in order to reschedule appointments.

Computer-assisted therapy planning and ordering

The OncoPlan prescription module represents the driving force through the delivery of care. It is available to care coordinators as the “hub” into which information flows and orders are initiated. Physicians and others use OncoPlan to review pertinent aspects of patients’ care and then issue orders for treatment, including chemotherapeutic, adjuvant and supportive therapy. It uses a computer-aided process that ensures the automated management of therapy, based upon protocol parameters.  OncoPlan is fully integrated with the other modules, allowing caregivers to investigate and manage any aspect of care and ensure complete, timely and accurate execution of the care plan.

Team Management with the Patient as the Center of Attention

The DrugMonitor module allows physicians and nursing personnel to verify in real-time, with or without infusion pump interfacing, the status of a medication administration. This is achieved through a monitor, equipped with visual and acoustic alarms that signal potentially dangerous situations providing and also reminders of the next activity to be completed. By using patient identification devices, such as bracelets, equipped with bar codes or RFID tags, the administration process can be connected to safety mechanisms based on patient-medication data cross-matching verification.

To receive, store, and process physician orders, ensuring safe, accurate, timely treatment

The CytoPlan module manages the process of preparing oncology medications, optimizes the pharmacy’s work cycle taking full advantage of receiving prescriptions in electronic format from the OncoPlan module. CytoPlan may be used to manage a traditional (manual) drug preparation process or may be further integrated with an automated compounding solution such as the CytoCare robot.

OMM’s Knowledge Management Module

OncoCube is the on-line analytical processing (OLAP) module that integrates with the OMM platform to allow the rapid production of statistical and predictive analysis of data relating to the prescriptions, preparations and administrations managed with OMM.  The system features all the tools for accurate and flexible data analysis, allowing users to intuitively perform complex statistics, as well as the simultaneous creation of graphics and spreadsheets.
